Home Theater Screens

Do It Yourself (DIY) home theater screen

We would like to thank all of our customers. We are celebrating our anniversary and we have sold hundreds of screens. We have had great feedback and we appreciate your comments.

Our goal in publishing this website is to help educate people about home theater. Hopefully we can help you make the choices in equipment and design that is best for you. I also hope that we can help you to save money in the process.

Building your home theater should be a great experience. I have had hours of fun building my home theater screen, projector, and setting up the sound system. Anyone who enjoys the theater will enjoy having a theater in their home.

Many of our neighbors have large basements that can be converted into a theater. Perhaps a multipurpose room that can act as a theater and serve other purposes would be better for some people. I have often thought of having a screen that can be retracted.

I think that there are three main types of home theaters. On the one hand you have the purpose built theater with dedicated seating and permanent mount screen. On the other hand many folks have a screen in a main living area of their home. Also we have many customers that build outdoor screens.

In the case of the purpose built theater the room is dedicated to the media viewing. I say media viewing because many theaters are not just a great place to watch movies and TV but also a great place to listen to music and enjoy all forms of entertainment.

The multipurpose room takes on more responsibility. In many cases the room is on the main floor of the living space and has multiple uses. From media viewing to reading and entertaining that may not be media related. This is the type of room that could be used for folding laundry and ironing as well as screening a film.

Take a look at this shot showing the laptop supplying the image to the projector and the projected image on screen itself. Note the amazing color saturation, rich color and giant amount of light coming from a low gain screen. Look at the light reflecting off of the glass top coffee table. The projector here is a 2000 lumen commercial model.

I ask you to check out our "Howto" section and see what it takes to build a screen for yourself. Then visit our buy now page and purchase cloth from us. You will be able to save hundreds of dollars for a comparable size commercial screen, have a larger screen overall, and feel great about building it yourself.

We sell standard and custom sizes of material. Please visit our "Contact Us" page using the link above to ask questions, provide comments and feedback.

Testimonials

Dont Take our word for it. Listen to what our customers have to say.....

Thank you so much for having such an informative web site. I am very new to this, and have taken all my cues from the AVS forum. Including, what projector and receiver to buy. Your web site has so much information and is easy to understand that even I could follow along and not feel lost. I found your site yesterday, and after measuring my screen needs, ordered from you today. I was just wondering how long it will take to get to me? I am in the Dallas  area. I am going to start building my frame tonight. I, too, have many wood working tools and enjoy wood working. If you would like, I can send you pics of my game room when I am done.

......Wiggle room is great! Thank you so much for your help. 2-3 day is also
very good. I will put a post on the AVS forum about how helpful yall
have been.
